How Pink Zebra Reed Diffusers work!

A few disclaimers about reed diffusers before we go down this road.

If you have pets, children, or anyone likely to knock your diffuser over, PLEASE keep it up and out of reach.  If you have older children who are prone to playing catch in your house or have an affinity for nerf guns, keep it in a cabinet!  The scent will STILL waft through - especially in smaller rooms. Some diffusers made by other companies contain hot oils that can cause chemical burns to children and pets.  To the best of my knowledge, Pink Zebra Reed Diffusers *DO NOT* contain these hot oils for the safety of you and your loved ones.

And now onto the happy stuff!

What's a Simmer Pot?

I know what it is to simmer something on a stove but what on earth is a Simmer Pot???

A Simmer Pot is another beautiful way to melt your Pink Zebra Sprinkles!  They come in a wide variety of colors and their small size makes them perfect for taking fragrance on the go or not taking up too much room on your desk at work!

My favorite thing about the Simmer Pots is they open up a whole new price range of warmers.  Still stylish and trendy, the Simmer Pots run between $22-35!  A fantastic opportunity for gifting someone to get them started with their Pink Zebra collection!

Let's take a peek at these stunning Simmer Pots!

Recipe of the Day: Biker Chic!

Those who know me well know there are so very many facets to my personality.  In my heart I'm kind and loving, but there's a definite edge to me.

Some of you know that when you see me running around in my Harley Davidson jacket, that jacket is backed up by what's in the garage - a 2003 Harley Davidson Softtail Springer my husband bought shortly before leaving the Army.  I joking call that jacket my "Suit of Armor".  It's the "Don't mess with me" "I'm at the end of my rope" "Don't even THINK about it" jacket.  The "I've got this" "I WILL be treated with respect" "I am so much more than you think" jacket.  The "Do you really want to try this?" "You *honestly* think that statement was a good idea???" "Rack 'em up - Let's play ball" jacket.

You get the picture.

Introducing Biker Chic - the fragrance that makes me feel like I do when I've got my jacket on and it's time to rock and roll.  No further description needed.  3/4 Lovely Lady and 1/4 Napa Leather....just like me. My very first TRULY Uniquely MINE fragrance combination from Pink Zebra.  What's yours?

Simmering Light? Shade? Both? HELP!

What is Simmering Light?  What's a Shade?  What's a Base?  What's a Liner?  Why do I need to purchase two things to have a complete warmer???

Welcome to the world of options.  Pink Zebra knows women and knows how much we love to be able to change things up without making a major commitment. That's why the Simmering Lights and their Shades are SO special!  This gives you endless options to customize to your decor, change for the seasons, and even spruce things up for special holidays!

The Simmering Light itself consists of 3 major parts that are 2 separate purchases.

First up, the Simmering Light Base and Liner!
This is the Simmering Light Base with Frosted Black Liner.

Every Simmering Light Base comes with a Liner of a wide variety of colors. The Simmering Light Base is where the light bulb which provides minimal heat turns on and creates a beautiful gentle light to the room when filtered through the liner.  On top of that Frosted Black Liner sits a little clear dish of glass where your Sprinkles will hang out in their own little custom Jacuzzi to bring you joy.

Simmering Light Shades from Left to Right
Mirror Crackle Glass Shade, Bling Brilliant Shade with Crystal Gems, Light House Ceramic Shade,
Cathedral Lantern Shade with Cross Medallion

These are just a small sampling of the stunning shades that are available from Pink Zebra.  Your shade goes over your Simmering Light Base and Liner so you have something to give it some unique personality!  There are five different shade categories to go with your decor: Bling, Glass, Metal, Ceramic, and Fabric/Natural.  There truly is something for everyone!

The complete appearance of your Simmering Light will change with each choice you make!  Here's some excellent examples of using the different liners with a single shade so you can see how the shades transform based on the liner used beneath!

Bling Brilliant Shade with Crystal Gems with liners in Frosted Gold,
Frosted Orange, Frosted Black, and Frosted White!

Wine Bottle Shade with liners in Frosted Black,
Frosted Brown, and Frosted Gold.

Enter Cherry Blossom Dew - this delicate scent wafts gently from the warmer bringing to mind the beginning of spring when flowers are just beginning to bloom and a light mist is still in the air.  On the days when you just want something refreshingly different,  this is a beautiful mix for your warmer!

Let's Talk Turkey!

Okay - I'm kind of doing a happy dance over here and I need to share WHY.

I just opened up my Pink Zebra Consultant Kit and I have to say I am *very* impressed with what was inside.  We've talked a ton about Pink Zebra, why it's a good and safe choice for fragrances, what Sprinkles are, how to get some free samples, recipes for Sprinkles...but we haven't talked about this amazing kit, why I ordered it, and what that has to do with you.

Here's why I went from being a Pink Zebra customer to a Pink Zebra Independent Consultant.

I LOVE THE PRODUCT!!!!  There was no better way for me to get to have ALL the fragrances I wanted to try cheaper than to just bite the bullet and join.  This gave me an opportunity to sample *everything* I loved and then some.  There were some surprises along the way.  Scents I thought I would just adore ended being a "yeah....not so much" for a few.  Scents I thought I would *never* want to try ended up in the "I LOVE THIS" category!  Imagine my surprise!

Over and above that, I truly appreciate the missions of Pink Zebra.  I have *never* seen a direct sales company that cared enough about it's consultants to offer insurance!  Yup!  Actual insurance WAY cheaper than out on the market!  For every party over $500, I don't just make a decent commission, but the HEROES charity donates a free day of child care to a single mom who is just trying to get by.

This company has heart - and in all the right places that hit home for me.

Maybe the opportunity isn't for you - that's okay!  Maybe you'd rather be a hobbyist and just have the chance to try the latest and greatest without having to purchase full size product every month?  Maybe you'd really like some extra income to help pay for a summer vacation, or even a car payment?  Maybe you'd like a career with a company who is *just* getting going but really has their nose to the grindstone and is working for you?  Maybe you want to work with a company that produces over 70% of it's products right here in the USA?

Whatever the reason, check it out!  I'm here for you when and or if you're interested in that decision.  In the meantime, did you get signed up for Paisley's Private Parlor yet???  Because there's some *really* exciting news coming in the next few days about a special opportunity for members!

Recipe of the Day: Valentine's Delight!

The time will soon be upon us for boxes of chocolate, little chalk hearts, and cardstock cards with cartoon characters gracing their pages.  Valentine's Day is nearly here.

When St. Valentine of Rome was martyred in 270 AD for continuing to marry Christians, especially soldiers and their beloved ladies, I don't think he foresaw his popularity 1800 years later!  (Fact check - this is one of many opinions on who St. Valentine was...but as a military wife, it's my favorite!)  The first shapings of wine and roses to this Saint's feast day were added to a pagan fertility festival on February 15 called Lupercalia where a goat and dog were sacrificed and women touched the hides to ensure fertility in the coming year.  During the Middle Ages, it was observed that birds began their mating season around February 15 and the actual romantic nature began to return to this holy day.  Actual valentines began circulating sometime around 1400 AD and the first known surviving valentine was of beautiful poetry from Charles, Duke of Orleans in 1415 AD after being imprisoned in the Tower of London following the Battle of Agincourt.  Sadly the valentine meant for his wife did not reach her before her death.

Now that we're all up to speed, allow me to introduce today's recipe!  Long Stemmed Roses and Chocolate Whoopie Pie join together in this delightful fragrance *just* for Valentine's Day!  Long Stemmed Roses is Paisley's Pick of the Month for January so snatch it up ahead of time so you have it for your special romantic evening in February!

Why have the scent of roses for just a few days while they're dying on the dining room table?  Keep the scent with you all year long with a jar of Long Stemmed Roses in your collection today!  Wish to get a free sample in the mail every month? What are these Sprinkle things?

Sprinkles are how Pink Zebra chooses to deliver it's fragrances directly to you.  Instead of in bricks and bars that must be broken and split, Sprinkles come in a glass jar that reseals completely to protect your Sprinkles scent so it lasts longer.

Unlike common bricks, bars, and tartlets, Sprinkles are made with SoftSoy, a soy-based wax that allows the fragrance to last not the standard 10-15 hours of scent per cube for the competition, but 38-45 hours of scent per scoop (tablespoon) of Sprinkles!

So....Sprinkles vs. bars - how much is in the package?

That's 2 bar containers of the competitor AND the cap of the Sprinkles jar from ONE container of Sprinkles!!!!

So...let's break this down.

Competitor's Bar is:
  • $5 for 2.6 ounces of product
  • 8 cubes of fragrance (maximum 8 uses per bar - many consultants recommend 2-3 cubes at a time!)
  • Each cube lasts 10-15 hours
  • 80-120 hour of fragrance per bar
  • Price Breakdown:
    • Hour: $0.04 - $0.06
    • Day (8 hrs): $0.33 - $0.50
    • Week: $2.33 - $3.50
    • Month: $10 - $15
Pink Zebra Sprinkles!!
  • $8 for 3.75 ounces of product
  • 15 scoops per jar
  • Each scoop lasts 36-42 hours
  • Price Breakdown:
    • Hour: $0.01 - $0.02
    • Day (8 hrs): $0.12 - $0.14
    • Week: $0.82 - $0.96
    • Month: $3.52 - $4.10

DIFFERENCE???
  • 26 hours MORE fragrance per scoop!
  • $8.69 monthly savings per warmer in your home
  • $104 YEARLY SAVINGS!!!!!!!!!

The question isn't can you afford to try Sprinkles from Pink Zebra! The question is how can you afford NOT to???  Request your free entry into Paisley's Private Parlor today and sample Sprinkles at no cost to you!  Get the chance to try a new Pink Zebra fragrance every month and get some happy mail!

Pink Zebra Sachets!

So....maybe you don't want a warmer everywhere.  Or maybe you have places you want a warmer but it's not quite in the budget yet.  Or maybe you have places you want a PZ scent but you don't want to have to deal with the hassle of setting up a reed diffuser and there's no outlet available.

Enter the sachet!

Sachets are a FABULOUS way o take your favorite PZ scents and use them without requiring a warmer.  That's right - Sprinkles are SO strong you can use them without needing to heat them!

Every Sunday we'll be featuring a new idea for Sachet Sunday!

This week, let's learn how to make a sachet!

Pick up a small organza bag.  I like to use ones that are about 3 inches by 4 inches.  Feel free to go larger, especially if the place you'll be using the scent is large or the stench its about to conquer is rather overwhelming.

Take a scoop (or 2-3 for a larger bag!) of your PZ Sprinkles and place it inside your bag.  Feel free to mix Sprinkles together for a scent that's Uniquely Yours OR check out our Recipes section to give you some new ideas on what you can do with the Sprinkles you have on hand.

Cinch the bag together (as shown above!) and you're good to go.

Little tip!  If you have toddlers, consider quickly stitching the top of your sachet together *before* you release it into the wild.  Always protect your Sprinkles....and your sanity!

Announcing: Recipe of the Day - Embroidered Denim!

One of the things I love most about Pink Zebra Sprinkles is the opportunity to not just "scent your space" but to scent it in your own unique style!  The chance to create a recipe that's exactly what you're looking for in that moment out of products you have on hand leads itself to unending creativity.

Recently I was "in the box" looking for something light, fresh, and a bit floral.  I recalled this adorable denim skirt a friend had purchased for her daughter while stationed in the Orient and the delicate blossoms that were embroidered on the fabric.  Divine magic struck!

Introducing....

The delicate blush of cherry blossoms over the freshly fluffed smell of clean cotton!  This is the perfect scent to reach for when you are creating a gentle, easy day with happiness and possibilities!
